With a legacy of excellence and service that has spanned more than 100 years, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity recognizes the significance of maintaining its global presence. In an effort to secure this global presence and strengthen its relevance in shaping the communities where Omega men reside, Theta Rho International Chapter has been strategically positioning itself over the past three years to be able to ensure the European expansion of the Fraternity, particularly in the United Kingdom and Italy.
Its endeavours have resulted in active work being done by Omega men in the United Kingdom. The growth of the Fraternity there has had an incredible impact on many of the Chapter’s Nationally Mandated Programs, including monthly donations to a battered women’s refuge, regular coat drives to the Salvation Army’s Homeless Shelter and mentoring projects in area schools.
Since the Fraternity has started work in the United Kingdom, Theta Rho International Chapter has initiated two college-aged men into its folds: Brothers Shane W. Gillings and W. Joshua Hallam. Additionally, there are a number of Brothers who have taken up residency in the United Kingdom for work and study. Additionally, the UK serves as a hub for Brothers travelling in Europe.
With the influence of the Fraternity growing in the United Kingdom, it is timely that a charter be considered. With this in mind, members of the Supreme Council as well as Officers of the 13th District will join Theta Rho in the United Kingdom during the weekend of June 22-24.
